Using this alteration I was able to successfully import all the supplied files.%%% Print('STL: Import failed with all known import methods giving up') Print('STL: Import using %s failed, trying other method' % gen._name_) index returned by pts.add() will be the one from theīreak # Import worked, we don't need to try other methods If the point is allready in the list of points, the (In stl_utils::read_stl ) # simple check for ascii or binary. I realise that the STL format is not really standardised with regards to ascii/binary detection, so I made a small patch to the importer that would try a binary import if the ascii method failed, and vice versa: I tracked down the issue to the fact that some of the files were binary-encoded but started with the string 'solid'. I had some trouble using the importer with some files a client supplied to me.
